Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) Department of Communication and Design Res. Asst. Büşra Kamacıoğlu completed the "Design Workshop" process organized jointly with the Epos7 Association, chaired by Arzu Sabancı, and Yıldız Technical University Art and Design Application Research Center (SATPARK) and shared her experiences.

Epos7 Association, chaired by Mrs. Arzu Sabancı and aiming to transfer our historical values and culture to future generations, organized a joint design workshop in cooperation with Yıldız Technical University Art and Design Application Research Center (SATPARK).

The aim of the workshop was to create souvenir product designs and to create designs to be printed on the products in line with the goal of the association. SATPARK  Eight lecturers from 6 different universities and 34 students studying in the design department from 7 universities attended the workshop, which was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Kahraman. The workshop was conducted with 8 different groups headed by the lecturers. In the workshop, the corporate identity of the EPOS7 Association was reconsidered and designed. In addition, souvenir product designs such as cloth bags, phone cases, sweatshirts, t-shirts, mugs, coffee cups, ball snow globes, gift boxes, and coasters were made that the association could offer for sale. The designs were delivered to Mrs. Arzu Sabancı, the president of the association.

Chairing a group at the workshop and taking place as the 'Chief Designer', Res. Asst. Büşra Kamacıoğlu produced designs with a design team of 5 students from the design department and shared her thoughts on the workshop with the following words:

“First of all, preserving cultural relics is a concern of all of us, but it is the duty of everyone involved in the fields of art and design, especially in the fields of art and design, to convey this concern to future generations and to raise awareness of culture and art. Epos7 Association is among the valuable associations serving this purpose as of its founding purpose. During the workshop, we produced designs as a team with 5 students from 2 different universities. We carried out our designs in 2 different groups within ourselves. While producing designs with a group based on the 'Medusa' image, which we often come across in ancient cities in Anatolia, and the 'Meander' motif, which is a frequently used geometric decoration motif; With the other group, we produced designs based on the 'peacock' and 'tulip' motifs of the Seljuks. As a result of a 9-day study, each stage of which was enjoyable, we made an online presentation with the participation of Mrs. Arzu Sabancı. All groups produced pleasant works and it was a good motivation to experience this process and to have the designs go into production.”

The association has started the printing process to start selling in the Epos7 online store. The closing meeting and certificate ceremony to be held face-to-face were canceled due to the prolongation of the pandemic process, and the certificates were delivered to the designers.
