Ayten Bengisu Cansever, an academic member of the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Communication and Design at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), has achieved a significant milestone in her international academic career. She secured a remarkable achievement at the 8th Communication and Media Studies Conference, organized by the Common Ground Research Network from September 6 to 8, 2023, and hosted by Complutense University of Madrid, by winning the "Emerging Scholar Award." In addition to this prestigious award, Research Assistant Ayten Bengisu Cansever also had the honor of chairing four different sessions during the conference. Furthermore, her presentation titled "AI-Based Mobile Applications as a Power Technique in the Time of COVID-19: The Case of Hayat Eve Sığar" garnered significant attention.
Cansever was among the 13 academicians who received the Emerging Scholar Award at the conference. This award was given to "emerging scholars" from various countries and expertise areas. Cansever, representing Turkey in the field of New Media and Communication Sociology, rightfully earned this prestigious accolade. She expressed her delight in her experience at both the conference and receiving the Emerging Scholar Award. She mentioned that the sessions she chaired covered diverse and contemporary topics, and the discussions were lively and varied. Cansever emphasized that she believed she gained new perspectives during her session chairmanship and that the active participation and questions from the attendees enriched her experience.
