By combining technologies with design; The Department of Communication and Design, aims to train designers who can produce products suitable for the determined target, follow the world, and produce sustainable and interactive designs in the fields of communication, digital media, and advertising, prepared video content that informs everyone about where, how and how they achieve these goals through students.
Filming was done with a group of volunteer students in various venues of the university and the Faculty of Fine Arts. While asst. Prof. Dr. Çağlayan HERGÜL from the Department of Communication and Design was responsible for the organization; Okan KIRBACI and Eda ÇEKEMCI from the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department as the shooting supervisor, and Büşra KAMACIOĞLU from the Communication and Design Department as the department supervisor. All of the shootings were done by the shooting team consisting of students from the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department of the university.
Communication and Design Department students Enes Dalgıç, Melike Söalp, Melek Gülşen, İrem Dede, and Gülben Alkan included various promotional groups such as computer laboratories where they carry out most of their work, a conference hall where they meet experts from the sector, and the faculty garden where they spend time outside of class. They introduced the fields and talked about the opportunities offered by the university and the department. The aim is to show the areas where they actively spend their time, and the “what do we do?”, “what do we learn?” and "What are we going to do when we graduate?" has been to clear up such question marks.
Gülben ALKAN, a 3rd-year student of the Department of Communication and Design, who took part in the video shoot, expressed her thoughts as follows:
"The day of the shoot was exciting and hectic. Going from home to school after a long time left me with mixed feelings. I was quite excited while filming in the hall. Fortunately, the crew was understanding and patient, so I had no problem getting a few repetitions. We had no trouble getting along because our energies were matched."
Alkan continued his sentences describing his excitement and experiences:
“A few scenes were shot in the garden of the faculty for the exterior shooting, there were fun moments at that time and it was quite enjoyable. It was a very different feeling to meet our friends at school after about 2 years and during this pandemic period. We can say that we met with our friends, whom we have not seen for a long time, on the occasion of this shooting. When the shooting was over, we said our thanks and left for our homes. I would also like to thank our instructors and the shooting team for making us take part in this promotional video.”
Enes DALGIÇ, a sophomore in the Department of Communication and Design, shared his thoughts and experiences:
“After 13 months of being apart, I realized how much I missed that atmosphere the moment I walked through the door of my school. The time we spent at the faculty, even for a few hours, was very valuable to me. We sat with my teacher Büşra and my friends in the gazebo in the garden where I always sit with my friends and commemorated the old days. I realized it after visiting my old classrooms which were empty for a while. Everything is beautiful with people. We had a lot of fun during the shoot. It was spent with laughter with my friends and teachers, both indoors and outdoors. I do not doubt that you will get great images. I look forward to September.”
