Research Assistant Ayten Bengisu Cansever Completed “Therapeutic Cards Training”!

Ayten Bengisu Cansever, Research Assistant at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Communication and Design, completed the "Therapeutic Cards Training" and received her practitioner certificate.

Ayten Bengisu Cansever, Research Assistant at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Communication and Design, completed the 8-hour practical Therapeutic Cards Training given by Associate Professor Durmuş Ümmet, one of the faculty members of Marmara University Atatürk Education Faculty, Guidance, and Psychological Counseling, and was entitled to receive a practitioner certificate.

Therapeutic Cards Training is used in the counseling process for various purposes such as enabling the client to express himself/herself better, enabling the client to embody their feelings and thoughts without censoring, enabling them to face facts that they are not aware of, coping with the client's resistances, and strengthening the communicative process between the client and the consultant. It is known as training aimed at gaining the skill of using it as a tool.

Res. Asst. Ayten Bengisu Cansever expressed her thoughts on the subject as follows:

“Therapeutic cards are cards with picture content that support the ability of the individual to perceive and evaluate himself and his environment, and to solve problems, if any. Card users make their interpretation of what they see. Thus, card users can make a special meaning about themselves and the situation they are in from what they see on the cards. Therefore, we can create the card ourselves, even by cutting it out of any magazine or newspaper. A card is only a tool in the consultation process. One function of the cards is to reflect the spirit, just like dreams. Whatever the individual sees on the cards can only be interpreted by the individual himself. In summary, it can be said that the cards do not tell us anything, it is the client who speaks.”

We congratulate Res. Asst. Ayten Bengisu Cansever and wish her continued success.
