“The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has significantly interrupted various activities of daily life that are considered normal globally. In this period, in order to reduce the spread of the epidemic, various social measures such as curfews, cancellation of public events, closure of public spaces, as well as individual measures such as masks and distance cleaning were taken by governments. Individuals besieged by measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, on the other hand, have turned to digital game consumption for various purposes such as socializing, having fun, relaxing and escaping from reality. In this period, the obligation to stay at home has increased digital entertainment activities, which can be listed as playing digital games and related e-sports and broadcasting. In fact, digital games were perceived as complementary to public health efforts to encourage staying at home during this period. In this period, digital games were seen as a substitute for the normality of daily life interrupted by the pandemic. So that; The World Health Organization has openly stated that it supports the #PlayApartTogether campaign to encourage individuals to stay at home within the scope of the coronavirus epidemic, in cooperation with the digital game industry. It was precisely during this period that Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH) game gained great popularity among the players on a global scale and turned into a cultural phenomenon in the history of the game. ACNH (2020) is a social simulation game developed by Nintendo.
