The ceremony began with opening speeches by Istanbul Gelişim University Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Abdülkadir Gayretli. Former Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, who was awarded an honorary doctorate, delivered the first lecture of the academic year as part of the opening lesson.
With the participation of many academic and administrative staff, the event highlighted the hopes for a successful academic year ahead.
