Lecturer and Director Ahmet Bikic and his Students Attended the Blackmagic Summer Training!

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), Communication and Design Department Instructor and Director Ahmet Bikic, and his students attended the Blackmagic Summer Training.

Lecturer Ahmet Bikic and his students Polat Bakırtaş, Hande Pala, Furkan Yazgeç, and Batıkan Karabacak attended the Blackmagic Summer Training held for two days on 29-30 June 2022. During the training, workshops were held in many branches such as “Live Production Cameras”, “Digital Filmmaking”, and “DaVinci Resolve Collaboration”. During the training, the opportunity to use the cameras as well as theoretical information was given to the students. Thus, students had the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge by practicing and improving themselves.

Lecturer Ahmet Bikic expressed his views on the training and workshops they attended as follows:

“Although theoretical information is very important for students in university education, it is very important for students to meet the sector, to be in the sector, to define the environment, pioneer names, and tool equipment in addition to theoretical knowledge. Our students are required to know every aspect of the profession while graduating. After our students graduate from their schools, they will become our future colleagues. For this reason, I think that it is necessary to support our students throughout their career journeys and I always act in this direction.
At this point, it is possible to say that experience is one of the most important requirements. Thanks to such workshops and training that will be held with the leading companies in our sector, our students have the opportunity to gain experience. In addition, such activities are important not only in terms of gaining experience but also in terms of getting to know the sector closely and making preparations in this direction.

One of the most important duties of academicians is to support students and to equip them for the profession they are studying for their future lives. As academicians, we try to do our best to support our students and provide the best opportunities for them. We are planning to intensify sector meetings in the new training period, together with the bilateral meetings we are currently holding.”

We would like to thank Lecturer Ahmet Bikic for his valuable comments. We also congratulate our students and wish them continued success!
