The education process is being transformed by the digitalization and pandemic process. With the transfer of education to the online platform, issues such as online presentations and attracting students' attention have come to the fore. In this process, various training presentations take place, and faculty members share their experiences. In this context, Çağlayan HERGÜL, one of the faculty members of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Fine Arts Faculty (GSF) Communication and Design Department, delivered the “Online Educator Training” presentation on 15.02.2021. 34 people from the Faculty of Fine Arts participated in the seminar.

The seminar presentation develops around 4 main topics. These are "Basic Concepts" about online education, "Surveys", "Interaction in Online Learning", and "Material Design and Use in Online Teaching". As mentioned in the presentation: “Distance education is an education method in which the student is physically separated from the instructor. It can be used on its own or in combination with other forms of education, including face-to-face. In distance education, students are physically separate from the institution that supports the teaching.” In this context, synchronous and asynchronous education is emphasized and space and time control is mentioned. Information was given about the preparation process of the course syllabuses, and suggestions were made about what should be considered in online teaching processes. Information was given about interaction with students and the use of materials and designs to ensure this interaction. In addition, information about preparing presentations in Powerpoint and Prezi applications is given within the scope of online presentation techniques. The training was concluded by providing mutual interaction in the form of question and answer.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Çağlayan Hergül from the Department of Communication and Design, who made the presentation "Online Educator Training", also expresses his views:

“We organized a new in-service training seminar to raise awareness about the gains we gained from the 'Training of the E-Trainer' seminar we received last summer. The subject we focused on in this seminar was modern digital education tools. I also focused on the Prezi presentation platform, which I frequently use in my classes, and made a presentation on how works of art and works related to art can be transferred as educational material with digital education tools. At the end of our presentation, which was enriched by the participation of my esteemed professors, a productive discussion environment about digital education tools emerged. Thank you to everyone who participated."
