Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Kasar expressed her thoughts on the Communication and Design Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU):

“First of all, I am very happy to have joined the staff of IGU GSF Communication and Design Department. Communication and Design department is one of the departments that gains importance in the changing world with the development of new communication technologies. With the proliferation of social media, digital content and mobile devices, the time and space limitation in the communication process has disappeared and institutions, target audiences, new communication environments and communication activities that are passive only as the receiver of the message in communication with traditional communication tools have become active in communication activities. . This situation has differentiated the variables that define environmental conditions and forced institutions that have to adapt to this situation to make significant changes in their understanding and practices. Institutions are expected to be effective and successful in their communication processes by adapting to this changing paradigm in today's conditions. Communication and Design department, on the other hand, has a very important area in this changing paradigm understanding. The most important reason for this is learning theory and practice together. The knowledge gained simultaneously in the applied fields of the new communication technologies that I mentioned with the theoretical knowledge in the field of communication is very important in raising active, successful communication and designers who can adapt to the changing paradigm and catch up with the era and thus respond to the needs of the sector. In this context, I can say that both the academic staff and the curriculum of our department are of extremely high quality.”

We congratulate Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Kasar and wish her success in her new position.
