The "International Online Juried 100th Anniversary Republic Mixed Exhibition," organized by İnönü University Faculty of Fine Arts, was presented to art enthusiasts online from October 29, 2023, to November 15, 2023. The exhibition was curated by Prof. Dr. Yüksel GÖĞEBAKAN, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fahrettin GEÇEN, and Lecturer Levent İSKENDEROĞLU.
The exhibition aims to celebrate the rich history and evolutionary development of Turkish painting art. Turkish painting art has a history spanning thousands of years and possesses a universal understanding, unique aesthetic sense, and a plastic language. Throughout history, Turkish art has been influenced by both Eastern and Western art, distinctively incorporating these influences to develop a unique form of expression.
The exhibition also sheds light on the significant development of Turkish painting art in the 20th century. During this period, Turkish painters took important steps in merging the fundamental concepts of Western art with their cultural roots, contributing to the recognition of Turkish art on the international stage.
The selection committee played a critical role in the selection of works for the exhibition and provided an important platform for the contributing artists.
Prof. Dr. Bülent YILMAZ, the Dean of İnönü University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, has spearheaded this event to organize it and commemorate the 100th anniversary of Turkish art.
