The Büyük Taarruz International Short Film Festival, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and hosted by the Governorship of Afyonkarahisar, garnered attention in the world of cinema. Within the scope of the festival, 2,876 short films from 122 different countries were screened. This significant event provided cinema enthusiasts with an opportunity to bring together different cultures and artistic narratives from around the world.
During the award ceremony of the festival, awards were presented to the most successful short films selected from the participants. The first-place film was awarded 15,000 Turkish Liras, while the second-place film received a prize of 10,000 Turkish Liras. The third-place film was honored with a prize of 5,000 Turkish Liras. Additionally, the festival presented the "Büyük Taarruz Special Award" to a deserving work, celebrating a special contribution to art and cinema. The first prize at the festival went to the film "Rutubet," directed by Turan Haste, the second prize was awarded to "Dıstan," a work by Abdurrahim Karabulut and Mahsun Celayir, and the third prize was given to Emre Sefer's "Babamın Öldüğü Gün" (The Day My Father Died). The Büyük Taarruz Special Award was granted to Ahmet Toklu for his work "Harman." The Governor Yiğitbaşı presented plaques and cash prizes to the winners.
Ahmet Bikiç, who stated that the content of the films in this year's festival revolved around themes related to October 29, July 15, and Gaza, expressed his desire to expand and reach a broader audience in the coming year with more film themes. He said, "We aim to appeal to young people and the people of Afyonkarahisar with a greater variety of film themes."
