The story of Arzu and Kanber, one of the well-known folk tales of Turkish folk literature, is a folk song love story that includes the emotional adventures between the heroes named Arzu and Kanber. Events in the story; It begins with Kanber's father being killed as a result of a night raid while he was traveling towards Hara with his merchant, and Arzu's father taking Kanber in as his stepchild. The events that develop after this consist of love and various adventures that help this love. It is thought that the story of Arzu and Kanber, one of the most well-known and loved stories of Turkish folk literature, emerged among the Turkmens (Oghuzs) after the 16th century.
This study, which is Dr. Türkan Korkmaz Bulut's doctoral thesis, includes two variants of the story. The work, which consists of 6 chapters in total, examines the story in terms of its linguistic features and also includes a facsimile of the story.
