In order to commemorate the 950th anniversary of the writing of Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk, the most important symbol of Kashgarlı Mahmud’s service to the Turkish language and the first dictionary of the Turkish language, the “950th Anniversary of Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk” panel was held by the Department of Turkish Language and Literature on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 13:00 to 15:00 at Firnas Auditorium. The event, which started with the opening speech of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature Head Prof. Hacer Gülşen, continued with Asst. Prof. Hatice Veli’s speech on the tomb of Kashgarlı Mahmud. Then, Asst. Prof. Pelin Ekşi gave a speech on the vocabulary of Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk. Finally, Asst. Prof. Türkan Korkmaz Bulut shared the story of the finding of Dîvânu Lugâti’t-Türk with the audience. The event, which attracted great interest, ended after a Q&A and photo shoot.
