 Turning Point in Troy Excavations!

A floor mosaic unearthed during the excavations of the Ancient City of Troy went down in history as one of the most important discoveries in the excavation history of the city.

During the excavations carried out in the Lower City of the Ancient City of Troy, which has a history of 5,500 years, a well-preserved mosaic was unearthed on the floor of a 1,500-year-old building belonging to the Hellenistic and Roman periods of the city. Excavation Director Prof. Dr. Rüstem Aslan stated that there were finds of this type before, but the presence of such high-quality structures 500-600 meters away from the city center once again shows the importance of the city for that period, and in this context, the excavations will be more concentrated in the Lower City.
