Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that in the first seven months of 2024, domestic air passenger traffic across Turkey reached 55.5 million, international passenger traffic 74 million, and transit passenger numbers 135,818, with a total of 129.7 million passengers served. Uraloğlu also shared the July 2024 air traffic statistics of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ). In July, there were 87,000 domestic and 97,000 international aircraft landings and takeoffs at airports nationwide, with total aircraft traffic reaching 234,683. Aircraft traffic increased by 3.5% compared to 2023.
 
In July, 24.9 million passengers were served at airports across Turkey, reflecting a 2.7% increase compared to the previous year. Cargo traffic at the airports reached 92,000 tons on domestic routes and 405,000 tons on international routes, totaling 498,000 tons. At Istanbul Airport, a total of 7.6 million passengers were served in July, marking a 1% increase compared to the previous year. At Sabiha Gökçen Airport, 3.8 million passengers were served.
 
In the first seven months of 2024, there were 519,000 domestic and 484,000 international aircraft movements. During this period, total aircraft traffic increased by 7.2%, and passenger traffic by 9.8%. Istanbul Airport served 45.7 million passengers over the seven-month period, while Sabiha Gökçen Airport handled a total of 23.6 million passengers. Airports in tourist destinations served a total of 32.5 million passengers during this period, with Antalya Airport handling 20.2 million passengers. Muğla Dalaman, Milas-Bodrum, and Gazipaşa Alanya airports also experienced significant passenger traffic.
