 4 Elements from Turkey Adopted to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List


4 more elements were included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, which has been prepared since 2003 and has been accepted from Turkey so far, 21 elements.


According to the statement made by UNESCO, as a result of the examination of the candidacy files submitted in 2022, "Traditional Ahlat Stonemasonry", "Nasreddin Hodja/Molla Nesreddin/Molla Ependi/Apendi/Afendi Kozhanasyr Joke-Telling Tradition", "Tea Culture: Identity, Hospitality and Social Symbol of Interaction" and "Traditional Production of Silk for Silk Insecting and Weaving" have been added to the Intangible Cultural Heritage List of Humanity. Thus, the number of cultural heritages of Turkey increased to 25. Traditional Ahlat Stonemasonry was listed in the status requiring urgent protection.
