During the program, attended by faculty members of the Department of Public Relations and Publicity, students were provided with comprehensive information on both academic and social aspects of university life.
In the first part of the event, the department’s course offerings were introduced. Students became familiar not only with the compulsory courses but also with elective courses tailored to their areas of interest. The wide-ranging content of the department’s courses was emphasized as providing a strong foundation for students’ professional development. Additionally, students were informed about how to receive guidance from the faculty members assigned as their academic advisors during the planning of their education and training.
Information was also provided regarding academic opportunities such as double major and minor programs. It was noted that students who meet the required criteria can study a second major or minor and obtain a second diploma.
Students were also informed about international exchange opportunities. It was highlighted that the Erasmus program allows students to study in different countries and that language proficiency and application requirements are important in this process.
In the next part of the program, the faculty and university were introduced. Students received information about the library, research centers, career center, and counseling services. The social opportunities offered by the university, including sports facilities, cultural and artistic activities, and various social areas enriching student life, were also presented.
Furthermore, the university’s website and social media accounts were introduced as effective channels for following announcements. Students were encouraged to actively participate in department activities by following these platforms. The importance of joining student clubs was also emphasized as a valuable step for expanding social networks and enhancing professional development.
As the Department of Public Relations and Publicity, we wish all our students a successful new academic year.
