The VIIth International New Media Conference organized by the Department of New Media and Communication and the Department of Radio, Cinema and Television will be held online and face-to-face on October 10-11.

The VII International New Media Conference, which will be held on October 10-11, 2024 by Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Department of New Media and Communication and Departments of Radio Television and Cinema, is titled Media and Social Transformation from Digital Content Production to Consumption.

In the new media ecosystem we are in, the processes of producing and consuming content have differentiated and it has become possible for every user to become a producer-consumer. Digital content production and consumption processes have a rapidly and continuously transforming, potentially global impact on all forms of social formation such as culture, politics, economy and art, primarily on traditional and new media.  Today, this impact is discussed in the context of data management and surveillance capitalism of countries and corporations on the one hand, and its impact on culture and art on the other, in the context of digital culture and digital art, with the inclusion of artificial intelligence in information production processes and the increase in data collection and processing capacities. The processes of digital content production and consumption are discussed in different scopes ranging from everyday life practices to informational capitalism.   VII. International New Media Conference opens the multidimensional effects of digital content production and processes on media and society to discussion.
