A Guest Who Combines Sector Experience with Social Impact: Ayşe Kırımlı
The seminar titled
“The Relationship Between Career, Social Responsibility, and the Business World”, organized by the Department of Public Relations and Publicity on Thursday, May 20th, took place in classroom 702 of Block K. The speaker, Ayşe Kırımlı, shared her educational background, career journey, and experiences in social entrepreneurship.
A graduate of Boğaziçi University’s Department of Sociology and a holder of a master’s degree in International Management from Istanbul University, Kırımlı has held senior positions in numerous prominent institutions including Shell Turkey, Türk Pirelli, Garanti Payment Systems, Inteltek, Praktiker, Adel Kalemcilik, Zorlu PSM, and Demirören Media. As a former General Manager of the Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG), she emphasized the importance of the connection between business and civil society activities.
Volunteering Culture in Turkey and Changing Expectations in the Business World
During her talk, Kırımlı shared various statistics on volunteering rates in Turkey, highlighting the need to strengthen civil society awareness. She stressed that corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts must be supported by individual awareness, and that today’s business world increasingly values not only career success but also social contribution.
Quoting recent studies, Kırımlı pointed out that the new generation of employees seek not only financial gain but also a meaningful purpose in their professional lives. She underlined that companies focusing on socially beneficial projects are crucial for sustainable corporate development.

At the end of the event, Ayşe Kırımlı responded to questions from students and offered advice on setting career goals. Istanbul Gelişim University aims to continue organizing events that support personal development and focus on social benefit in the coming terms as part of its institutional mission.
