The article titled “Infodemic and Information Disorder on the Axis of Digitalization” written by Dr. Merve Boyacı Yıldırım, Research Assistant at the Department of Public Relations and Publicity, was published in The Academic Elegance journal indexed in TR Dizin Index.
The study addresses the transformative effects of digitalization on the information ecosystem. The article discusses how technological advances have facilitated access to information, but also how this has led to information disorder, such as the dissemination of unverified and misleading content. These challenges societies face are presented through a conceptual framework that emphasizes how elements such as social media, algorithms, filter bubbles, echo chambers and online journalism affect the ordering of information.
