A new article by Merve Boyacı Yıldırım, a member of our Public Relations and Publicity Department faculty, which in-depth examines the media's approach to immigrant and refugee issues, has been published in the Journal of Management and Economics Research.


The study, titled “The Sentimental Frame of the Media: Analyzing the News Headlines About Immigrants and Refugees in Online News Sources Through Sentiment Analysis and Topic Modeling,” focuses on how the issue of migration which is one of today's most prominent global agenda items is constructed in online media.

The research investigates immigrant and refugee-focused news headlines on digital news platforms using modern and innovative research methods such as sentiment analysis and topic modeling. By revealing the media's "sentimental frame" and its power to shape public opinion on this sensitive issue, the study makes a significant academic contribution to the fields of communication, media studies, and public relations.
