The Oldest Known Three-Dimensional Map of Europe Revealed

Scientists have discovered that a Bronze Age stone slab is the oldest known three-dimensional map of Europe.

Uncovered during excavations in 1900, the panel was hidden in the moat of a castle in France for more than a century. The motifs on the 4,000-year-old stone slab are thought to depict an area in Brittany, France. The 2-meter-long and 1.5-meter-thick slab was found in the castle's cellar in 2014.
