UN Secretary-General António Guterres said on thursday that while young people are at the forefront of efforts to build and maintain peace, opportunities for them to make a meaningful contribution remain inadequate. Speaking at the online launch of the High-Level Global Conference on Youth-Inclusive Peace Processes, Guterres urged the international community to increase support. Guterres told that UN must guarantee that young people sit at the table by creating inclusive solutions that combine peace and security, sustainable development and human rights. The Secretary-General briefed on UN support, including through the Peacebuilding Commission, which provides a platform for young peacebuilders to present their work and suggestions.
