The third part of the sixth evaluation report titled "Mitigation of Climate Change" by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was published on April 4, 2022. After the report, UN Secretary General Guterres warned that governments should regulate their energy policies or the situation will become irreversible. In the news published on the official website of the United Nations Turkey on April 5, 2022, Guterres said, “It presents viable, financially sound options in every sector that can keep the possibility of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees alive.”
