World Health Organization (WHO) renewed its call to all member countries to put their differences aside and come together to support the scientific investigations on the origins of the novel coronavirus. Toward this goal, WHO announced that a new independent advisory group of experts has been formed and that it would welcome nominations for the panel from all countries. While this panel will resemble previous WHO-led scientific investigations into the origins of pandemics such as Ebola in Africa, WHO reiterated the fact that the novel coronavirus investigations will need much more effort and for that all governments were advised not to further politicise the issue. Data sharing is, on the other hand, identified as a key feature that would improve the spirit of cooperation among different countries.
