Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change indicates that Covid-19 may pave the way for countries to reconstruct their economies in an environmentally responsible way. Dr.Nick Watts, the Chief sustainability officer for the NHS expressed that “The only way you can meet the Paris agreement is by taking advantage of this moment … by combining the recovery from Covid-19 with the response to climate change.” So, green recovery from pandemic may be possible if we take action today. Also, the 2020 report points out the correlation between emerging infectious diseases and climate change.
