Istanbul Gelisim University’s Department of Political Science and International Relations and IGUSAM will host an event titled “Migration Diplomacy,” where the use of migration as a diplomatic tool by states will be discussed.
The event’s speaker will be Assoc. Prof. Dr. Damla Bayraktar Aksel, who works at the Istanbul Policy Center and specializes in topics such as international migration, transnationalism, diaspora, and migration governance. The moderator of the event will be Dr. Elif Şahin, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations (English), who is also an expert on migration and has done research in this field.
The increasing importance of the migration issue, especially in the areas of foreign policy, security, and the economy today, will be evaluated from an academic perspective at this seminar.
