The Department of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul Gelişim University, in collaboration with IGUSAM and ODAP (Center for Middle East, Eurasia, and Asia-Pacific Studies) will host an event titled “Geopolitical Reflections of the USA-Israel-Iran War on the Middle East” featuring a presentation by Dr. Ali Semin, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations.
Our event focuses on the shifting regional dynamics following the military attack launched by the U.S. and Israel against Iran on February 28, 2026. The crisis within Iran’s leadership, the oil crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, and the escalating conflict environment driven by Iran’s retaliatory actions across the region form the general framework of the event.
The event will discuss the impacts of this war on Türkiye’s security, global energy markets, and the Middle East. The aim of this in-person event with Dr. Ali Semin, an expert on the Middle East, is to provide participants with the opportunity to analyze the multi-layered structure of the ongoing hot war in the Middle East and to offer insights into how this war might alter the balance of power in the region in the future.
All interested stakeholders are invited to attend our event.
