UTİKAD (Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers of Turkey) announced two strategic initiatives to achieve its goal of reaching a $200 billion logistics market size and positioning Turkey among the top 10 countries globally in logistics.
The first step is the Turkey Logistics Summit 2025, to be held on November 7, 2025, with Turkish Cargo as the main sponsor. The summit will address key topics such as rapidly changing global logistics dynamics, digital transformation, AI-driven logistics, sustainable transportation, and supply chain security. With more than 1,000 participants expected, UTİKAD President Bilgehan Engin emphasized that the summit will be organized as a carbon-neutral event, highlighting Turkey’s strategic role as a regional logistics hub.
The second initiative is the “Women’s Impact in Logistics Report,” prepared by UTİKAD’s Women in Logistics Focus Group (KLOG). The report demonstrates, through quantitative data, the significant impact women have in logistics—enhancing service quality, customer satisfaction, operational resilience, and risk management. However, it also reveals that women hold less than 10% of senior leadership roles across the sector.
Engin described the report as a call to action for greater gender equality, stressing that true sectoral growth is only possible through equal opportunity and inclusivity. He highlighted women’s contributions in communication, crisis management, and technology adaptation as essential for the sector’s transformation.
Through these two strategic steps—focusing on innovation, technology, and inclusive sustainability—UTİKAD aims to lead Turkey’s transformation into a global logistics powerhouse and reinforce its leadership in both economic and social dimensions.
