 Consumer inflation at 14.97 % in February





 The negative effects of the coronavirus on the economy continue.Turkey saw a 14.60% annual hike in consumer prices in December 2020. The inflation rate in Turkey increased from 14.60%  in December to 14.97 % in January of 2021. Inflation continues to rise despite pressure from the central bank. “Inflation figures show we are far from the target. We will never compromise on our measures to achieve the goal,” tweeted by Treasury and Finance Minister Lütfi Elvan. Despite this, economists expect inflation to rise in April because of coronavirus crisis.
