TOURISM IN TURKEY 2021
The combination of breathtaking natural beauty, historic and cultural sites, along with great food, makes Turkey one of the top tourist destinations in the world. Despite all these advantages, the tourısm sector was badly impacted due to the coronavirus.According to the data of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of foreigners visiting the country in 2020 decreased by 71.7% compared to the previous year.But this year things are changing. “Turkey is doing very well. If Turkey continues to inspire trust and confidence for visitors, it may reach the pre-2020 rates before the end of 2021,” Taleb Rifai, secretary-general of the U.K.-based World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFI), told Anadolu Agency.
If vaccines reduce the number of coronavirus cases and a health-safe environment is created, millions of people living in homes will want to go to other countries and this effect will increase tourism revenues.
