Yahya Kemal Kıran, Director of IGU TTO Application and Research Center, emphasized the role of the office in developing cooperation with industry, project management, benefiting from support programs and providing entrepreneurship services. Kıran said, “We inform academics and researchers about national and international support programs and increase the amount and quality of funding by ensuring their appropriate applications. In addition, by building collaboration between universities and industry, we ensure the transformation of knowledge into technology and economic contribution.”
IGU TTO encourages the development of innovative ideas in physical spaces equipped with modern technology. The office, which has 4 full-time staff, 9 part-time staff and 13 interns, aims to transform academic research into industry through technology and project groups.
Training programs are also an important part of IGU TTO. The trainings organized on Technology and Innovation Management, Patent and Intellectual Property Rights, Project Management, Grant Programs and Entrepreneurship provide participants with detailed information on technology transfer and innovation management.
Following the completion of the project phases, IGU TTO conducts improvement and optimization studies to ensure that the prototypes meet industry standards. In this process, collaborations with companies accelerate the integration of projects into industry and contribute to the real-world application of innovative technologies.
Among the projects carried out by IGU TTO are advanced technology projects such as unmanned aerial vehicles with electric motors, artificial intelligence applications and smart mirrors. These projects make significant contributions to the industry by aiming to develop both domestic and national technologies.
