 What are the Parenting Styles?

It is known that parents' attitudes have a very important place in the personality development of the individual. According to Bowlby (2014), one of the theorists who have many studies on this subject, it is considered as one of the key points of parenting styles and successful parenting in the mental health of the next generation 1, 2, 3.
Let's take a closer look at parenting styles
Authoritative parents are warm and close to their children, while at the same time, there are clear rules that they have and apply. They encourage their children to be independent within the framework of these clear rules and boundaries 1. Parents guide their children when children's behavior is incorrect, as well as holding control in their hands 4, 5.
Authoritarian parents show less temperature and higher levels of control behaviors against their children. These parents expect certain obedience from their children against the rules they set, and these rules are indisputable in the family 1.
Permissive parents are very warm to their children and have no expectations from them. Children are inadequate in determining the opposite limits. According to them, good parenting is to allow the demands of their children 1.
Uninvolved parents are not close to their children and do not have control over their children. They are indifferent in the needs and requests of their children 1.
As A New concept: Helicopter Parenting
It can be mentioned that parents who are extremely interested in their children, who live their lives focused on children, make plans for their children, make plans for their children, carry out these plans, and adopt the helicopter parenting style 11, 12, 13. close to their children and do not have control over their children. They are indifferent to the needs and requests of their children 1.
