Asst. Prof. Esra YALÇIN, a faculty member of the Civil Engineering Department at Istanbul Gelisim University, has published her research titled "Analysis of Fall Accidents from Scaffolding in the Construction Industry" as the sole author in the internationally peer-reviewed journal Gradevinar. The article, ranked as Q3, is available in both English and Croatian languages.
In the study, Asst. Prof. Esra YALÇIN analyzed the primary causes of scaffolding accidents in the construction industry. The research examined 280 scaffolding accident reports recorded by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) between 2019 and 2023, utilizing the Pareto-Lorenz analysis method. The study categorized the accidents based on the 3E model (Employee, Equipment, and Environmental factors) to provide a comprehensive understanding of the causes and contributing conditions of falls. The findings serve as a significant guide for risk management in occupational safety.
The research emphasizes the critical role of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and highlights the importance of proactive safety measures to improve worker protection.
We congratulate Asst. Prof. Esra YALÇIN on this significant academic achievement and wish her continued success in her endeavors.
