A seminar-style presentation was delivered to undergraduate students by Muhammed Tahir Noaman NOAMAN, a master’s student of Assoc. Prof. Ahmad Reshad NOORI, Chair of the Civil Engineering Department.
The presentation focused on structural irregularities defined in the Turkish Building Earthquake Code 2018 (TBEC 2018), with particular emphasis on torsional irregularity and soft-story behavior. Students were informed about the effects of these irregularities on structural performance and their importance in the design process.
Such seminars aim to enhance students’ professional knowledge and increase their awareness of earthquake engineering concepts.
