Child Development (Master) (Thesis)








 Lecturers from Klaipeda State University taught courses at IGU under the ERASMUS+ program.


Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Department of Child Development hosted an international event addressing the importance of emotional intelligence in early childhood and its role in education as part of the Erasmus+ Staff Exchange Program. The event, organized in collaboration with Klaipeda State University, shared important insights on the contributions of emotional intelligence to child development.


Experts from Klaipeda State University conducted course presentations for IGU students following a campus tour. The academics shared the training program they offer at their university in the field of Early Childhood Education with the students of the Child Development Department, highlighting the role of emotional intelligence in children's development through scientific data and examples.

The event provided participants with the opportunity to understand the positive effects of emotional intelligence techniques on health and development in work with children. It was emphasized that emotional intelligence is crucial for the development of children's social skills and their ability to express themselves. Additionally, suggestions were shared on how to design methods and content that could enhance the role of emotional intelligence in sustainable education practices.

As part of international collaboration, this event offered a broad perspective on cultural diversity for both academics and students. The gathering, where experts from different cultures shared their knowledge and experiences, contributed to the sensitivity of Child Development students toward cultural diversity and international education opportunities.

At the end of the event, after addressing students' questions, Lecturer Berk Efe ALTINAL, Kamile KESYLE, and Giedre SLUSNIENE were presented with plaques.
