 Additions to the Covid-19 Guidelines

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Child Development faculty member Assist. Prof. Dr. Nurten ELKİN shared information about on January 14, the "Covid-19 Related Isolation and Quarantine Practices in the Current Period" guide was added to the "Contact Tracking, Epidemic Management, Patient Monitoring and Filiation" section of the Ministry of Health's Covid-19 Guide.

According to this update;
*Quarantine application in those who are in high risk contact with COVID-19,
*Isolation times were re-determined in SARS-CoV-2 infected asymptomatic or mild cases (cases monitored at home or hospitalized for less than 24 hours).
 *Within the scope of quarantine application in those who are in high risk contact with COVID-19;
Persons who have been vaccinated with a reminder dose or who have had the disease in the last 3 months are not quarantined if they are in contact with COVID-19. They can continue their daily lives by following their own symptoms by complying with protective measures (use of mask, interpersonal distance, hygiene).
Although there is no quarantine, these people should pay maximum attention to the mask and distance for up to 10 days due to the partial risk.
In case of symptom, PCR test is performed on the day of symptom development.
This rule does not apply to people who stay and provide services in areas where care is given to high-risk people (such as elderly care homes, prisons, immunosuppressive patients, etc.). Even if quarantine is not applied for people serving high-risk people, it should not serve the high-risk group for 10 days.
In people who have not been given a reminder dose or who have not had the disease in the last 3 months or who have not been vaccinated quarantine period is suggested 7 days. If no symptoms during the quarantine, the quarantine is terminated without testing on the 7th day. In case of any symptom development during the quarantine, PCR test is performed on the day of symptom development.
 However, although the quarantine period has ended on the 7th day, these people should pay maximum attention to the mask and distance for up to 10 days due to the partial risk.
 A 10-day quarantine is applied to people who stay and provide services in areas where high-risk people (such as elderly care homes, prisons, immunosuppressive patients, etc.) are given care. Even if the 7th day quarantine period has expired for people serving high-risk people, they should not serve the risky group for 10 days.
*In the isolation periods of SARS-CoV-2 infected asymptomatic or mild cases (cases monitored at home or hospitalized for less than 24 hours); regardless of vaccination status:
Persons with symptoms are isolated for 7 days from the onset of symptoms and those without symptoms for 7 days from sample collection for the first PCR test. At the end of the 7th day, the isolation of individuals with no symptoms or mild symptoms and no fever without taking antipyretics in the last 24 hours is terminated without PCR testing. However, although the isolation period has ended, these people should pay maximum attention to the mask and distance for up to 10 days due to the partial risk.
10-day isolation is applied to people who stay and provide services in areas where high-risk people (such as elderly care homes, prisons, immunosuppressive patients, etc.) are given care.
Even if the isolation period ends on the 7th day for people who serve high-risk people, they should not serve the risky group for 10 days. ELKIN stated that in addition to the rapid vaccinations in the control of the epidemic, measures such as the use of masks, compliance with the social distance rule, reducing the crowds and providing ventilation and complying with the general hygiene rules are still very important.
