I am Listening to My Future Profession From Graduate Students

Kübra Yılmaz, one of our graduates, participated in the "I Listen to My Future Profession from Graduates" event moderated by Pelin Pehlivan, organized by IGU Guidance as an instagram live broadcast on 07.01.2021.

Kübra Yılmaz stated that she is a graduate of Istanbul Gelişim University Child Development Department 2018, that she was a student representative and peer mentor for 2 years as a student, she is currently working in a rehabilitation center and her master's degree is at the dissertation stage.

She gave answers with the chat of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Counseling Specialist Pelin Pehlivan about what kind of department is child development, who should read this section, what job opportunities are after graduation and employment conditions.

Yılmaz shared his experiences about field study courses and summer internship in 3rd and 4th grades, as well as theoretical trainings, his experiences about the workshops of the Child Development Department, and the practices they carried out during her undergraduate education.

Yılmaz, who was active in the studies as a student representative during the accreditation process, stated that the team coming from the AHPGS during the accreditation process had both document reviews and one-on-one interviews with students from each department, at the same time, spatial observations were made, and great attention was paid to the consistency of the information in the documents.

Yılmaz, who also served as the Student Council SKS responsible, suggested that Student Clubs are active and that his fellow students should definitely participate in such social activities as well as their classes.

In addition, he suggested that the Continuing Education Center (IGUSEM) organized trainings in line with the demands of the students or that they contact the Continuing Education Center for new trainings they would request.
