Central Bank announces year-end inflation forecast

Fatih Karahan, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), presented the “Inflation Report 2025-III.” Fatih Karahan, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), announced the inflation forecast for 2025 to be between 25% and 29%. While the 24 percent year-end target set for 2025 in the previous report was maintained as an “interim target,” the interim targets for 2026 and 2027 were updated to 16 percent and 9 percent, respectively. Karahan, who sent a message regarding the interest rate reduction process, said, "The number and amount of interest rate reductions will depend on the inflation outlook and these risks. We will proceed based on the data flow; we are definitely not on autopilot.“ Noting that they anticipate the downward trend in rents to continue, Karahan said, ”We had anticipated that rigidity would break down more quickly, but it appears that it will not break down that quickly."
