 TURKSTAT OCTOBER 2021 INFLATION RATES




TurkStat has released the October inflation figures. In October, inflation increased by 2.39 percent, reaching 19.89 percent on an annual basis, according to TUIK data.
In October 2021, there was a 2.39 percent increase over the previous month, a 15.75 percent increase over December of the previous year, a 19.89 percent increase over the same month of the previous year, and a 17.09 percent increase over the twelve-month averages.
The communication group had the lowest annual increase, at 5.29 percent. The other major groups with a low increase compared to the same month the previous year were alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.88 percent), clothing and shoes (8.08 percent), and entertainment and culture (13.12 percent).
Food and non-alcoholic beverages had the highest increase compared to the same month the previous year, with 27.41 percent, restaurants and hotels had a 25.23 percent increase, and household goods had a 23.03 percent increase.
The main expenditure groups that increased the least in October 2021 were education (0.17 percent), entertainment and culture (0.51 percent), and communication (0.51 percent).
Clothing and shoes, on the other hand, increased by 7.56 percent in October 2021, alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 5.97 percent, and transportation increased by 2.43 percent.
Out of the 415 items included in the index, the average price of 46 items decreased in October 2021, while the average price of 38 items remained unchanged. The average price of 331 items went up.
CPI excluding unprocessed food products, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold is 1.85 percent higher in October 2021 than in the previous month, 14.73 percent higher than in December of the previous year, and 18.50 percent higher than in the same month of the previous year.
