G20 risk watchdog warns of potential financial market crash
The Financial Stability Board (FSB), which oversees the stability of the global financial system on behalf of the G20, has warned that the recent sharp rise in asset prices, combined with ongoing economic and geopolitical uncertainties, could lead to fragilities in the system.
FSB Chair Andrew Bailey stated in a letter to G20 finance ministers that market valuations could reach “misaligned” levels, while public debt continues to rise and financial vulnerabilities persist. He also emphasized the need for effective implementation of existing global financial reforms
