Turkish Airlines is Changing the Start Date and Aircraft of its Melbourne Flights.

Turkish Airlines is moving the start date of its first flight from Istanbul to Melbourne to March 1 and changing the aircraft used on the flight from Boeing 787-9 to 777-300ER. It will have two stops for a while due to transfers at Istanbul Airport.

Shortly after Turkish Airlines' highly anticipated first Australian route from Istanbul to Melbourne went on sale, the start date was brought forward. Turkish Airlines' first flight from Istanbul to Australia will now take place on March 1, instead of the previously planned date of March 15.

When last year's booking data is examined, it is seen that there are more than 70,000 round-trip passengers in Melbourne-Turkey. If spread over 365 days, this means almost 200 passengers per day. This reflects passengers of Turkish origin primarily living in Melbourne, for whom the carrier is well positioned for this market.

Turkish Airlines serves many airlines in Turkey and beyond, such as Skopje, Bucharest, Podgorica, Ankara, Izmir, Tirana, Sofia, Sarajevo, Adana, Belgrade, Zagreb, Porto, Catania, Thessaloniki, Gothenburg, Marseille, etc., who want to travel from and to Melbourne. It will be able to easily catch passengers traveling to the city. Looking at previous years, all of these cities had a pretty good number of Melbourne travelers.
