Istanbul Airports Witness Over 104 Million Passengers in 11 Months

Istanbul's airports experienced a substantial surge in passenger numbers, surpassing 104 million during the January-November period of the current year. The rise in air travel, which had seen a decline during the COVID-19 pandemic, continued its upward trajectory since 2022. Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport noted remarkable increases in passenger traffic, with Istanbul Airport accommodating over 70 million passengers and Sabiha Gökçen Airport serving more than 33 million travelers. The flight count also escalated significantly, reflecting a resurgence in air travel demand.

In the January-November timeframe of this year, Istanbul's airports collectively managed to host more than 104 million passengers. Istanbul Airport alone received over 70 million travelers, while Sabiha Gökçen Airport catered to over 33 million passengers. These figures illustrate a substantial increase in air traffic, supported by a rise in the number of flights from both airports compared to the previous year. The remarkable surge in passenger numbers and flight frequencies reflects a renewed interest and confidence in air travel within the region.
