A Meaningful Contribution from Our Department to Zero Waste Week: "Small Details in Sustainability" Exhibition Opens

Within the scope of the "Sustainability and Communication" course conducted within our department; the exhibition titled "Small Details in Sustainability," designed by our students Gamze Günde and Özkan Kuru under the coordination of Assistant Prof. İlknur Gümüş, will be open to visitors in the Istanbul Gelişim University Tower 2nd Floor Foyer Area between June 2-5. 

Organized under the auspices of the Istanbul Governorship as part of Zero Waste Week

This meaningful event, which is part of the vision of leaving a cleaner and more livable world for future generations, was organized within the scope of "June 1-7 Istanbul Zero Waste Week," organized under the coordination of the Zero Waste Foundation and under the auspices of the Istanbul Governorship. Focusing on the importance of "small details" and individual steps in the fight against the global climate crisis and environmental pollution, the exhibition aims to increase corporate and social awareness. 

Broadly Participatory Organization Through University and Industry Collaboration

The exhibition, conceived as a broad-based collaborative movement of intellect and art, featured sustainability-themed works by students from our Public Relations and Publicity Department, as well as students and academics from various departments of our university. The exhibition, prepared with a multi-voiced and interdisciplinary structure, also received significant support from outside the university. Kocaeli Municipality Seka Art Specialization Center Fashion Academy contributed with specially prepared works, showcasing the finest examples of sustainable design to our visitors.

In her opening speech, our Department's Assistant Prof. İlknur Gümüş drew attention to the vital importance of sustainability in today's world. In her speech, Gümüş congratulated the students who undertook the design of the project, Gamze Günde and Özkan Kuru, and all stakeholders who contributed. The "Small Details in Sustainability" exhibition will continue to welcome sustainability enthusiasts and environmentalists throughout the week at the Istanbul Gelişim University campus.
