Child Development Department Alumni Meeting Held


The Department of Child Development at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Health Sciences, held the “Child Development Department Alumni Meeting” online on September 3, 2026, with the aim of supporting the professional and academic development of its graduates, contributing to their career planning, and strengthening communication between the department and its alumni.


The opening speech was delivered by Asst. Prof. Havva SAĞLAM, Head of the Department of Child Development. Sağlam emphasized the importance of maintaining sustainable communication with graduates and highlighted the value of such meetings in strengthening the relationship between the department and its alumni.

Prof. Dr. İzzet GÜMÜŞ, Director of the Graduate Education Institute at Istanbul Gelisim University, attended the event as a guest. During the program, Prof. Dr. İzzet GÜMÜŞ provided information about the contributions of graduate education to academic and professional careers. He also gave detailed information about the Thesis and Non-Thesis Master’s Programs in Child Development offered by the Graduate Education Institute of Istanbul Gelisim University.

During the program, the differences between thesis and non-thesis master’s programs, the aims of the programs, application and admission processes, academic requirements, the education process, and thesis and project studies were discussed. In addition, the opportunities offered by graduate education for professional specialization and academic careers were evaluated, and graduates’ questions were answered.

Asst. Prof. Havva SAĞLAM, Head of the Department of Child Development; Res. Asst. Rabia Ceren ATEŞ; Res. Asst. Kevser Tuğba ÇINAR KARASU; and Res. Asst. Şebnem ÇELİK UÇURAN also attended the event. The meeting provided graduates with an opportunity to share their professional experiences and career journeys.

The event ended with the closing speech of Asst. Prof. Havva SAĞLAM. Sağlam emphasized the importance of alumni meetings in maintaining communication between the department and its graduates and thanked Prof. Dr. İzzet GÜMÜŞ and all graduates who participated in the event.

The alumni meeting contributed to helping graduates learn more about professional and academic development opportunities and to strengthening a sustainable communication and support network between the Department of Child Development and its alumni.
